‘Romeo and Juliet’ law offers a way off Florida’s sex offender list

This is typical of most Florida legislation and in particularly with legislation associated with criminal justice. They rush to implement poorly thought out legislation and in the process trash a lot of lives then back peddle without making the prerequisite amends to those whose lives have be trashed in the process. However, what the have done is to keep the prison beds full which is an employment program for the rural counties of Florida. There are only three of 68 counties in Florida that do not have a prison or related facility.

The “Romero and Juliet” law gives those who violated the state’s age of consent a way to get rid of the stigma of being labeled a sex offender. Go to link to get a better take on the full scope of the law: Romeo and Juliet Law
