This is only one chapter in what will most likely turn out to be a long struggle. Both sides have the resources, money and power to make the battle long and costly. Lost in the struggle are all the issues of the well being of the staff and inmates in the affected places. At the moment it is Region four which is the 18 or so prisons in the southern tip of Florida. However, privatization could spread to other parts of the state as well.
The judge was clear to point out that no one had come up with a good set of data for he privatization process as required by law.
