Iraq War vet faces 10 years in prison after photographing police

For the life of me, I can not understand what the problem is of photographing the police in the performance of their duties. We are talking of public employees, on public property in the performance of their duties. What is the diference between witnessing an act and recording it on tape. For a fact, we know that tape is so much better than an eye witness. Yet we have a case in Austin, Texas of a man facing ten years in prison for doing just such a thing.
