Convicted bank robber gets 1,256 years in prison

This has got to be some sort of record. Once again, mandatory sentencing trumps a judge’s discretion. As much as it may appear to be pure idiocy, it beats the case where a police officer kicked a woman in the head that was in hand cuffs and seated on the curb. His defense was that he was acting in self-defense. He was only given a suspended sentence. It was a policeman that had prior a prior charge of violence.
