Gainesville leads nation in antipsychotic drug use

hydrocodoneThis is something that caught my attention: ‘…Gainesville has the highest anti-psychotic drug use in the country, but that doesn’t reflect higher rates of psychosis in the community, according to a Yale University study….’ what was followed by ‘….Essick added that “non-medical factors such as marketing dollars and physician density are sort of fueling the utilization.”…’ a few paragraphs later.

MoneyDoes this mean that the pharmaceutical industry is driving the use of prescription drugs?

Then there is the point that medicine, education and government are the economic engines of the community.
