A voice for juveniles: Dream Defenders, DJJ Secretary raise justice issues

woman in prisonDon’t think anyone ever thought they would see this in Florida. ‘…during the 2013 Legislature, the push was to move funding and resources from the back end of juvenile justice to bolster the preventative side. All requests for funding, totaling more than $10.8 million, were approved for DJJ’s reform plan, the Roadmap to System Excellence. Money goes toward improving  prevention and diversion services that are integral in keeping kids out of jail….’
